TMP connects the dots between near-term climate risk and your programmatic goals
Non-profits everywhere know near-term climate risk is a problem, threatening to reverse hard-won progress across a range of Sustainable Development Goals. Yet traditional climate models fail to provide the localized intelligence they need to protect ecosystems and empower communities to respond and adapt.
TMP bridges this gap in two critical ways. First, we’ve developed unique data that translates into language that communities and grassroots organizations can use to advocate for themselves and their livelihoods.
Second, we focus exclusively on the all-important 2025-2035 timeframe – recognizing the reality that even though communities in low-income countries have done the least to cause climate change, they’re bearing the brunt of its impacts. This near-term focus injects a sense of urgency that stakeholders – from donors and governments to communities themselves – desperately need.
Data and communication
Our unique datasets assess near-term, localized risks. Our analysis tells you what they mean for existing programs and priorities. Both are designed to be communicated in ways that inspire communities and decision-makers to act.
Local resilience
We co-fund and implement climate adaptation and resilience pilots for local communities, providing technical, financial and practical support to help them engage in fair negotiations centered on material benefits for all parties.
Connecting to sources of funding
We have decades of experience in understanding communities’ financial and technical needs, then connecting them to sources of funding from governments, investors and international institutions.
TMP has been focused on climate from day one. We launched after our founders witnessed firsthand how environmental instability was preventing climate action, leading to worsening impacts and cycles of increasing dysfunction in countries across the globe.
In the years since, we’ve developed funding mechanisms to help local communities reduce climate change risks while boosting local incomes, conducted analysis that proved Indigenous peoples and local communities are leaders in preventing deforestation, and spearheaded global efforts to bolster transition mineral supply chains against climate shocks by putting local resilience first.
Today, our proprietary near-term climate analytics are a cornerstone of our work, helping communities everywhere prepare for a dramatic climate shift that will impact lives and livelihoods.
